Genoa's project "FORCE" was selected in 2016 among the proposals of european project Horizon 2020, developed with the Municipalities of Copenhagen (leader), Hamburg and Lisbon. The european partners of FORCE project are 22, 5 located in Genoa: Amiu, the Municipally of Genoa, Ticass, Ecolegno and Active Cells.
All european cities are going to redesign through pilot initiatives a sustainable stream of specific materials, in particular: Genoa on wood, Copenhagen (project leader) on plastics, Hamburg on electrical and electronic waste and Lisbon on organic waste.
The target of the FORCE project is to minimize the dispersion of resources from the linear economy and put them back into the cycle, according to a circular economy logic, developing eco-innovative and participative solutions in all four materials.
Each city will develop a local stream, Genoa for wood with a territorial partnership. Each city will also have to develop pilot activities on the other three streams.
Therefore we will continue sharing organizational and operational solutions related to the recovery of WEEE, which are main element of the WEEENMODELS project.
FORCE will last 4 years, until August 2020.
